This Summer on a cruise along coasts of Greenland, Newfoundland and Labrador I had the chance to watch some whales again. These animals are always fascinating to me, because they are mystic in some way. You rarely see the whole body, mostly the back and tail only. During the last years I had many chances to enjoy the beauty of whales and it never was or will get boring. Every scene is very different. Sometimes you have a single whale, just showing his back shortly. On other occations there are large groups of them blowing into air all around the vessel. Sometime it happens at open sea, sometimes they are near some coast with landscape as background. The best and most exciting way to whatch whales was at a small rubber boats. You are near water surface and can get quite close to the whale. The photographs I share in this month's gallery were taken in regions of Antarctica, Alaska and Eastern Canada.
